Can a Muslim Watch Porn While Fasting?

Watching Porn While Fasting

Question

I'm a Muslim (girl) fasting. Can I watch porn movies?

Answer

As Muslims, when we're fasting we strive in engaging ourselves in acts of worship (‘ibādah) and deeds of righteousness as possible. We do that in a way that gets us as closer as possible to Allah and His Ultimate Pleasure.

When fast, we pray, we recite the Qur'an. We give charity. We ask about our family members, relatives, neighbours and loved ones. By doing that, we hope and pray to be included among those whose sins are forgiven and those whose sins are eradicated from their record books with the Almighty.

As Muslims, we are not allowed to look at the ‘aurah of other people. ‘Aurah is any part of the body, which the Muslim male or female –in accordance to their gender, are not allowed to expose to the public. It’s sinful for them, if they do. If they do, we react to that by lowering our gaze. We sin, if we fail to reduce our vision. This is whether or not the exposers of their ‘aurah are Muslims. And this is whether or not we (the potential viewers) are fasting.
