Q&A: Fasting Without Saḥūr

Q&A - GSalam.Net

Question

Is One’s Fasting Valid Without Sahūr?

Answer

Yes. One’s fast is valid even he doesn’t take his Saḥūr. The most important is to make the intention (Niyyah) to fast before Adhān.

However, the Prophet, ṣallā Allāhu ʿalaihi wa sallam, did emphasize the importance of Sahūr. He indicated that Saḥūr is a blessing. So a Muslim should do all it takes, to take Saḥūr.
