A Photo from Egypt: Egyptians Make a Strong Statement with Eid al-Fitr Prayer

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Beneficent

The photo you’re seeing above is a photo from Egypt. It is of 2022 Eid al-Fitr prayer. It shows roads and alleys leading to Masjid Abu Bakr al-Siddiq in Cairo, Egypt. Yes, the crowd you see extended from a mosque to the eyesight you are seeing. See the video below.

So, what is the story of the photo from Egypt?

A Brief Background

Islam and Muslims have been attacked aggressively by the wing of dajjal machinery that is r.u.l.ing Egypt. Attacks on Islam have never been as aggressive as it is now. Especially this Ramadan.

As such, the media of the dajjal has been working tirelessly, provoking Muslims and casting doubts about Islam, questioning the fundamentals of Islam, and making a mockery of Islamic rituals.

Tarawih is Just Sunnah

It reached the point when one of their ‘boys’ claimed that Tarawih is just Sunnah and that Muslims don’t have to observe it at the mosques when Ramadan comes. That statement was before Ramadan. Probably that was to prepare the public minds for something that was going to be announced. And to also ensure people will stay at home, to watch the dirty dramas and films they have produced, specifically to attack and uglify Islam.

The same person, who seizes every occasion to insult Islam, declared that Isrā’ and Mi’raj were nothing other than a fairytale in the Muslim mind.

Respect for the Holy Cow

Again, the said tail (who is falsely referred to as a journalist), who never left any opportunity without using it to ridicule Islam and Muslims came out to express how he respects holy cows, and how female cows look sexy to Him. He was trying to promote the concept of idolizing cows in the mind of the ordinary Egyptian Muslim. [Un]surprisingly, he feels agitated and provoked when he sees or hears anyone ridiculing cow worshiping. =D

Dirty Dramas and Movies

It didn’t’ stop there. Throughout the month of Ramadan, they have been pumping TV dramas and movies that clearly demeaned and insulted Islam and Muslims and undermined the Sunnah of the Prophet ṣallā Allāhu ’alayhi wa sallam, as well as religious scholars and teachers of the past and present.

Again, all that was to cast doubts in Muslim's hearts and minds, and to shake the credibility of Islam among Muslims. Of course, they have nothing to worry about, simply because they’re supported by the ruling folks. At least for now.

Restrictions for Tarawih

True enough, when Ramadan arrived, Muslims were restricted from Tarawih. The Minister in charge of Muslim affairs (awqāf) instructed for a time frame for Isha and Tarawih. The means, Isha’ and Tarawih must be done with, within a given time.

After which Muslims must leave the mosques. Why? To curb the spread of COVID-19! Mind you, this happened when Christians were allowed to celebrate Easter (“Good Friday”) in large crowds. No concerns of COVID-19 spread were raised.

Ban of Tahajjud and I’tikaf

In the last 10 nights of Ramadan, mosques were banned from conducting I’tikaf and Tahajjud. The said minister justified that by saying, the mosques are not equipped like hotels. Again, because mosques are not equipped like hotels, they’re afraid they can’t ensure “social distancing”.

Believe it or not, the ministry deployed some of its staff (who are supposed to be religious teachers) to go around to inspect and ensure mosques were closed. And would chase out people from any that was open. So much so, that they ordered a congregation to cut the prayers short (during tarawih).

The authorities only allowed Tahajjud in the last three days of Ramadan, after the Egyptian people started to express frustration. Suddenly, COVID-19 no longer posed threat.

All this happened in the past few weeks in Egypt. This happens to Egypt, which is the largest and, arguably, the most influential Muslim country in the “Middle East”, if not in the world.

For your information, this minister in charge of Muslim affairs doesn’t know how to recite Surah al-Fātiḥah correctly. There’s a video of him, struggling with reading Surah al-Fātiḥah. In prayers!

The Message of the Photo from Egypt

Now, when Eid came, the Egyptian people decided to make a statement. And that is: we are overpowered by the army. But the army can’t decide for us our religion. The army can’t pollute Islam in our minds. And the army can’t take Islam away from our hearts.

So, they (the Egyptian people) decided to fill the mosques and all their extended roads and alleys during Eid prayers.

What does that mean? It means, all the efforts and attempts, and the money that was pumped in to uglify Islam in the mind of the ordinary people have failed.

“Those who are bent on denying the truth are spending their wealth in debarring others from the path of God. They will continue to spend it in this way till, in the end, this spending will become a source of intense regret for them, and then they will be overcome. And those who denied the truth will be gathered together in Hell.” (Surah al-Anfal, 8:36).

Now, the authorities have only one choice. That is, to ban Eid Prayers in the future. Can they?

How Is This Related to You?

This photo from Egypt reflects a very tiny of the current challenges faced by Islam and Muslims in Egypt. I am certain, that every other Muslim country is having a set of challenges they are facing, as a result of the aggressive war against Islam.

Muslims in Saudi have their set of challenges in the face of the dajjal machinery. And so have Muslims in Morocco, Algeria, Malaysia, Indonesia, and elsewhere. And Muslim minorities also have their sets, be they in the West, in the South or in the East. What is worth emphasizing is, that the challenges faced by Muslims in Muslim-minority countries is equally disturbing when compared with those in Muslim-majority countries.

However, regardless, whether you’re in Muslim-majority or in a Muslim-minority country, there’s good news… and this is what Allah tells us:

يُرِيدُونَ أَن يُطْفِئُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَيَأْبَى اللَّهُ إِلَّا أَن يُتِمَّ نُورَهُ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ

“They want to extinguish Allah’s light with their mouths, but Allah seeks only to perfect His light, no matter how those who deny the truth may abhor it.” (Surah al-Tawbah, 9:32)

Allāhu al-Musta’an
