Ya Bunayya: #17 – Come on! Show Me One Favour You Do the Oxygen, the Water, the Food, and Islam

Ya Bunayya!

As a human who Allah made His vicegerent on this earth, if you choose to function as intended for humans on earth, then you’ll have some favours on some of your fellow human beings. In return, you owe it to many others.

Either way, the favours you render or receive have their limits. There’re some creatures you can only receive favours from them. However, you cannot render them anything in return.

Here are four of them. They’re oxygen, water, food, and faith. First, let’s start with the first three: oxygen, water and food.

What Favour Can You Do Oxygen, Water and Food

Ya Bunayya!

No matter how much you contribute to ‘humanity,’ you can’t render favours to oxygen, nor water and food.

What favour do you do the oxygen, which you breathe in to continue to survive on this earth? What favour can you do the water, which you use to quench your thirst and clean yourself? What favour have you been doing the food, that you eat to satisfy your hunger?

Any attempt you do to ‘supposedly’ preserve the oxygen, the water or food, isn’t but to ensure they remain accessible for your interest. Your interest alone. Isn’t it?

But You Have the Will to Preserve or Destroy. Really?

Ya Bunayya!

As a vicegerent on this earth, you’re given the testing will to pollute the oxygen you breathe in. Therefore, whether you choose to preserve it, or pollute it; your life on earth depends on it. So, do you dare to pollute it? And if you ever do, does it get hurt and destroyed? Would you do that, simply because it needs you, as you need it to survive?

Likewise, you can contaminate the water you drink and clean with. Whether you do it or not, you’ll still need it. So, you have the choice to either preserve its cleanliness and purity, or contaminate it. Just pretend to invade the waters. Do you think they will get hurt and destroyed? Do you think the water needs you, just because you can’t live without?

In fact, when man started processing, heavily, the foods that are given to him, he started to see all sorts of sicknesses that he has to deal with, as a result. Preserve its natural essence or process it to your liking. But blame no one for the consequences. What do you choose?

Your Faith: The Fourth You Can’t  Do a Favour

Ya Bunayya!

Man is created, with the sense of the need for faith, which is built inside him. He can’t live a moment without faith. If not consciously, then subconsciously. It’s only when he realises it, that he puts in the effort to learn about the correct faith which he needs to live as an effective vicegerent on this earth. Unfortunately, many choose to do it their way. Not the way it’s supposed to be. Again, they choose.

If you’re guided to the correct one, you’ll know that your faith is more precious and valuable than the oxygen, with which you survive on this earth. You’ll appreciate that your faith is also more important than the water you drink and clean yourself with. Unarguably, your faith becomes more important than the food, with which you satisfy your hunger. After all, hunger is a mindset… sometimes.

Likewise the willpower you’re given to temper with the oxygen as well as with the water and the food, you also have the willpower to temper with the purity of your faith. Just note, that by your tempering with it, its reality doesn’t and won’t change. The correct faith remains the correct faith. Simply because it’s connected to the Creator.

Therefore, you can only temper with it to respond to the evil whisper inside you. Well, I’m sure you’re aware, that such an evil whisper is caused by the Devil.

Otherwise, the ones who submit to that which is in their best interest in the longer run, dare not temper with the faith that belongs to the One Creator. The faith that secures them salvation on the day of resurrection, and an eternal abode in the Paradise of Aden.

Ya Bunayya!

In one way or another, in your best capacity, you are most likely serving Islam. However, do remember, that the service you render to Islam is a favour you do yourself. It’s not a favour you do Islam. Yes, service to Islam; a favour for yourself. This is because Islam was revealed to do for you the favour of staying and remaining in purity, goodness and kindness. This goes, without the need to indicate, that you can’t live purity, and true goodness and kindness without worshipping the Creator. Mind you!

Who, other than a foolish man would turn away from the religion of Ibrahim? We chose him in this world, and in the Hereafter, he shall be among the righteous. When his Lord said to him, “Surrender!” he responded, “I have surrendered to the Lord of the Universe.”  And Ibrahim enjoined his sons to do the same, as did Ya’qūb, “My sons, Allah has chosen this religion for you; so, do not let death overtake you, except when you are in a state of Islam.” Were you present when Ya’qūb faced the hour of death and he asked his sons, “Who will you worship after me?” They answered, “We will worship your God and the God of your fathers; Ibrahim and Isma’īl and Ishāq: the one God; we have submitted ourselves to Him.” (Surah al-Baqarah, 2:130-134)

In other words, nothing comes close to the feeling of truly and sincerely belonging to the fold of Islam.

May Allah grant us the guidance and courage needed to refine our dunyā for the best interest of our Akhirah.

Allah knows best!
