How Zina and Porn Collectively Lead to a Long-Term Depression

Zina and Porn Lead to a Long-Term Depression - GSalam.Net

Alhamdulillah… Thanks and praises are due to the Almighty Allah who prohibited zina. Peace and blessings are upon the purest man who ever walked on this earth, Sayyidina Muhammad, his household, companions and all those follow his guided path till end of time

Since I wrote about the harm of pornography and dangers of Zina, 80% of visitors who reach GSalam.Net through search engines land there through porn-related or Zina-related search terms.

I'm not exaggerating about this. And the implications are serious ones. Most websites get more than 80% of their visitors through social media and search engines. Thus, when 80% of 80% of visitors who reach a website through search engines happen to be searching for zina or porn-related terms more than other terms, then it's alarming.

I believe most of my readers are Muslims. Moreover, although these terms can be searched by non-Muslims as well, the term zina is practically used by Muslims more than anyone else. Thus, one of the implications is that Muslims online are very much obsessed with porn and zina items.

Another implication is that, one can conclude, that as much as some are genuinely searching for the way out to quit zina or abstain from watching pornography, many others are searching for ‘fatwa’ that grants the permission for watching porn.

Admittedly, none searches for the permissibility of zina though. But the volume of terms searching for the permissibility of watching porn is a jaw-dropping. This implies that we undermine the effect of watching pornography. Simply because we perceive it as a minor sin. But we forget -assuming we agree that it's a minor sin (which we don’t), that watching porn can easily render you a victim to zina.

Once we undermine the side effects of watching porn, in addition to it being a sinful act, we risk leading ourselves, willingly or unwillingly to a permanent state of depression. Yes, it could be depression that leads some of us to watching pornography, but once you're stuck in it, you sink in more depression.

Here, it's worth emphasizing, that as long as we allow ourselves to be stuck in watching pornography, then we can't resist Zina when it presents itself. Just like depression does not discriminate, the habit of watching porn also does not discriminate. And you already know, that zina does not take place with one person. It requires two persons from the opposite genders for it to take place.

The point here is, as much as males can be addicted to porn, females too are addicted to it. As much as the young can be addicted to it, the adult are also addicted to it. Proper and holistic upbringings can safeguard one from it, but geographical location doesn't immune you from falling victim to watching pornography.

Since this is the case, it's a matter of time, that you fall into zina. It only requires meeting another addict, to fall into it. May Allah safeguard us all.

Likewise addiction to watching pornography, once we're involved in Zina, watching porn becomes another addiction on its own. And that will cost us a big deal of our self-worth. This is in addition to the family issues it could drag us into it.

It could be depression that leads one to watching pornography. Similarly, it could be depression that drags him into fornication. Butboth [inlinetweet prefix=”” tweeter=”” suffix=””] zina and pornography are coexisting sicknesses that lead to a more serious state of depression[/inlinetweet].

It's not too late to help ourselves by ourselves. May Allah grant us the strength to do so. While we seek protection from Allah, we have the responsibility of ensuring our wellbeing and the wellbeing of those under our care.

We should learn to identify the early symptoms in ourselves, as well as in our children, especially the teenagers among them. I believe, with early detection of these symptoms, we're saving ourselves a big deal of future harassment and uneasiness.
